We Don't Need A Baby Gate...

we will take a mylar balloon instead! Yesterday I discovered that Mac is scared of this balloon. I moved it to the living room while taking pictures of my halloween decor. We were sitting in the floor and Mac was staring at the balloon so I moved it closer to him and he grabbed me and looked away!

And then a light bulb went off... if he doesn't like the balloon and we can NOT for the life of us keep him away from the TV cabinet then...

Yes, the balloon is now infront of the TV. Mac will not go near it! We are very seriously contemplating getting a few more to put in the kitchen so he will stay out of those cabinets!!

This. Is. Halloween. This. Is. Halloween...

Pumpkins scream in the dead of night. This is Halloween... Ok sorry for the "Nightmare Before Christmas" flashback.

I decorated for Halloween this weekend so I guess you could say I am in the "Halloween spirit". I almost didn't get my decorations out but I just couldn't stand it, even though I already had my fall stuff out!! I put it up, well the decorations that were on the breakfast and dining room tables, and out came the glitter skulls and spiders!

I found a black, super awesome cake plate at Hobby Lobby for 30% off. I passed this cake plate many times on several different Hobby Lobby trips and I just could not get it out of my head! I had to have it!! So Saturday while Mac and I were out on errands we went to HL and purchased the cake plate! :) Soooo happy! I had also, previously, found some really cool, really cheap glitter skulls at HEB (our grocery store here) and picked up some spider web there too.

Here's how it turned out...

This is the breakfast table. I need some black or spiderweb'ish placemats but it's fine for now.

This is the dining room table. It's not great, I'm not 100% in love with the way it turned out (more like 78% in like with it) but it will do for this year. I need some apothocary jars but I used what I already had.

I don't have a black candle so I took a peach one and wrapped it in black scrapbook paper and wrapped white embroidery floss around it. I stuck some sequins on it so it would fit in with the glittery theme.

And instead of taking my fall leaves down I just covered them in spiderweb...

I tried to use the spiderweb as a table runner...

This is the entryway. I didn't want to take down the fall decorations so I just used more spiderweb and spiders...

Decorating is a hard job and I couldn't have done all this alone. Straight from Halloween Headquarters...my helper...

And yes.. the "ruler of darkness" still gets in trouble by the "Supreme Ruler of the House"

Prison Break

Mac is mobile, very mobile. He is everywhere and he is FAST! It's amazing just how fast he can crawl. Jimmy keep tabs on Mac while I am cooking so that he is not camped under my feet or emptying every cabinet he can get to but he will not stay still and you are constantly chasing him down. So last night while I was cooking dinner, I look up from the sink and see this...

Jimmy had blocked off part of the living room so Mac couldn't get out! hahaa. Jimmy was sitting on the far side of the loveseat next to the other open escape route so that if Mac went that way he could just reach over and catch him and not have to get up!

(Jimmy standing in front of the open space between the couch and the wall)

Mac eventually figured out that the pillow was not much of a road block. He reminded me of Jurassic Park when the dinosaurs kept "testing" the fence for weak spots. At least the pillow was not electrically charged.

(please excuse the pile of laundry and other mess)

And he's free, he takes a duck hostage

But that doesn't stop Dad. He got put back in jail, however, he went straight back to the pillowed section and promptly escaped again. Oh well, at least Jimmy got to sit for a second. hahaa.

Weekly Weigh-In 18 (wk 14 for me)

I am linking up with Marvelous Mommy & My Little Apricot for my Weekly Weigh-In.

Start Weight (7/8): 206 lbs
Last Week: 185 lbs
This Week: 195 lbs ???????

Goal Weight by Dec: 178 lbs
Goal Weight Overall: 165 lbs

UM?? Anyone? Thoughts?? I don't understand how it would be possible to gain 10 pounds in a week!!?? I didn't believe my scale so I went to the nurse at work and used his scale and it was the same!! My clothes are not fitting differently, I don't feel like I gained 10 freaking pounds!!?? I figured I would have gained between 2 and 4 pounds this week just because we had a house guest last weekend and we went out to eat twice, I had some drinks and just normal routine was different but 10 pounds!! 10 POUNDS!! Really? I am hoping that most of it is water weight from having to be a "girl" the last 5 days in combination with the eating out and drinks. All I know is I feel like I have had the wind knocked out of me. I am in complete denial. I will be running everyday this next week. I am so mad.

I Can't Wait For Wordless Wednesday...

this picture is too funny to hold on to till then!

The much elusive... ZOMBIE BABY!! They are hard to capture on film as they are skiddish around humans. This one must have been hungry!!!

Weekend Visitor

This weekend Jimmy's mom, Judy, came in for a visit. She lives in Mena, Arkansas and made the trip down here to Austin to see Mac (and the rest of us by default.) Ha!

She got here Thursday evening and left this morning at 6:30am. We stayed at the house most of the time but she got to play with Mac all weekend. We watched the terrible UT game on Saturday and then afterwards went to eat at a little mexican food place in Manor called Ramos (so amazing).
(Pre-Game Nap)

Sunday we went to church and then went to Town Lake to walk around for a bit. I went to early church because I had a brunch to go to but they took a picnic lunch to Town Lake and ate while they waited on me. We walked a little while then went to the house. We went to Pok-e-jo's BBQ for Sunday supper. Tasty!!

I know Mac had fun and we enjoyed her being here! It was a fun weekend!
