Well Mother's Day #3 is in the record books. And, man, was it fantastic. My boys practically rolled out the red carpet the whole weekend.
Saturday started off with an appointment for a pedicure. Jimmy had given me a gift card for a runners pedicure for my birthday and 5 months later I finally had time to schedule it! But it worked out since it just happened to be Mother's Day weekend.
So at 10am me and my feet were in a spa chair and being pampered and having a super relaxing time. For the next hour my feet were exfoliated, soaked, scrubbed, buffed, massaged and nails painted. Then, they asked "Manicure"... why don't mind if I do. So repeat the last hour but with my hands and arms. Heaven!!
It. Was. Amazing. I had the best time. It was my third pedicure, ever. Yeah I know but I do boot camp and before that I ran so pedicures seem wasted on me but I might have to rethink my position on this...
After my toes and fingers were dry and shiny I had a few errands to run.
I headed off to Old Navy. I found some sandels that showed off my new perfectly polished toes... Happy Mother's Day to me. Next, Starbucks...Happy Mother's Day to me, again. With my Grande Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappachino in hand off to Hobby Lobby for a couple things then home to my boys where were waiting on me and ready to whisk me off downtown for some more Mother's Day fun!
We ate at Mighty Cone for lunch. It's a food trailer in SoCo that is super tasty! Jimmy had never been and I had only been once before. Plus I wanted to do something very "Austin'y" for Mother's Day.
Mac did really well. We only had one small melt down, I can live with that.
After we ate we headed over to Zilker park to ride the train. I thought Mac would enjoy that and he did! We parked and bought our tickets but had about 25 minutes until the train ride so we took Mac to the huge playground area. Jimmy followed him around and I followed them taking pictures.
Mac made a run for it...
And he's back...
Train Time!! He was really excited and he did sooooo well during the entire 30 minute train ride. He loved looking around at everything we were passing and waving to the people we passed.
We will definitely be going back for another train ride very very soon!
After we rode the train we headed off to the Eastside for dessert!
We got ice cream sandwiches from the Cool Haus food trailer.
So Yummy!!
They were super messy but worth it. I had the smore's cookie with the tahitian vanilla ice cream. Jimmy had the salted double chocolate chip cookie with the red velvet ice cream. He liked his ice cream but thought the salted cookie was too salty. Mac had a chocolate chip cookie and a fun time running around the whole place.
We had promised him ice cream but only got him a cookie since it was going to be so messy and he would have never been able to eat all of the sandwich. We left there and headed to the house but stopped at Sonic on the way home for some Cherry Limeades and an ice cream cone for Mac!
Such a fantastic day!
The next morning, Sunday, Mother's Day, I got two cards and a beautiful James Avery charm for my bracelet!
Then I was taken to 290 Cafe for an awesome breakfast before church. We love the breakfast there... so good. We were stuffed!
After church I was taken to Jason's Deli. Jimmy told me he didn't want me to have to mess with anything in the kitchen and who was I to argue! Once we got home we just spent the day being lazy. It was great! Jimmy went to Ramo's to get me chips and salsa for supper and we split an order of nachos.
Mother's Day Perfection!!
(And large shoes to fill for Father's Day but he deserves it!)
Hope your Mother's Day was fantastically perfect too!

Wow... VERY impressive! I didn't get anything (unless a trip to the Frio counts). But I have a husband and son I love to pieces, so I'll pretend like that counts. ;-)
